If you’re a fan of inter dimensional wormholes through household appliances, laser harps, or ethereal mammoth skeleton chimes, this is the place for you. Meow Wolf is part art installation, part escape room, and part psychedelic funhouse for the whole family (including adults)

The enigma of this play palace is difficult to describe. From the outside, the building looks like a bowling alley, but come inside for an eye-opening look into the full capabilities of human imagination. Although you are tasked with solving the mystery of a family that vanished from their home, this is in no way integral to the experience that is Meow Wolf. Most people completely ignore the objective and just explore the incredible space. I visited three times before I could comfortably say I think I’ve seen everything there.

You enter a normal looking Victorian style house, but you quickly begin noticing things aren’t so normal. Take a walk through the fridge, or dive through the wormhole in the washing machine. One way or another you will find yourself in a fantasy wonderland of creativity. A room full of eyes, a fish tank for humans, or a tunnel of TVs are just a few of the abnormal, unreal, and offbeat oddities you will discover here. Tickets are $30 (children $20) but bring a few extra bucks because the gift shop is great. This incredible infectious exhibit will open a Las Vegas location this year called Area 15, and one in Denver in 2021. The Denver location will be nearly five times the size of the one in Santa Fe!
